Regional Forest & Fire Capacity

The Inland Empire Resource Conservation District (IERCD) is a block grant recipient of the Regional Forest and Fire Capacity (RFFC) program administered through the California Department of Conservation. This program supports forest and fire capacity projects in the San Bernardino Mountains and adjacent foothill communities.

The RFFC program has invested $7.12 million into our region since IERCD became a grantee in 2019. This has funded efforts related to workforce development, project permitting and environmental review, multi-agency partnerships, demonstration projects, Fire Safe Council capacity building, and more. Projects in the region are identified, prioritized, funded, and executed through strong partnerships with dozens of groups including fire and forestry agencies, special districts, non-profits, universities, and community groups.

See our IERCD RFFC program summary HERE for more information about the types of funded activities and program successes.
